CBSE Class 10 Private Student Registration 2024: Everything You Need to Know

Are you a Class 10 student aiming to take your board exams privately in 2024? The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released important details about the registration process, eligibility criteria, and fee structure for private candidates. In this blog post, we’ll break down all the essential information you need to successfully register for the CBSE Class 10 private examination in 2024.

Registration Dates and Fees

The registration process for Class 10 private students will kick off on September 12, with aspiring candidates required to submit their applications through the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in. You can complete your forms without incurring an online fee until October 11. The registration window will officially close on October 19. However, if you submit your application between October 12 and 19, you’ll be required to pay an additional late fee of Rs 2,000.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for the CBSE Class 10 private examination in 2024, you must fall into one of the following categories:

  1. Essential Repeat Candidates (2023-24): Students who need to retake the examination.
  2. Compartment Candidates (2023): Candidates who were placed in the compartment during the board’s main examination in 2023.
  3. Compartment Candidates (August 2023): Candidates who faced compartment exams in August 2023.
  4. Failed Candidates (2018-2022): Those who were declared fail in the years 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.
  5. 2023 Graduates: Graduates of 2023 who wish to improve their performance in one or more subjects.
  6. 2022 and 2023 Graduates: Graduates of 2022 and 2023 looking to appear in an additional subject.
  7. Delhi Female Candidates: Bona fide residents of Delhi.
  8. Physically Handicapped Candidates (Delhi Residents): Candidates who meet the age criteria for appearing in Class 10 and have a medical certificate.

Please note that female students from Delhi and physically handicapped candidates will have their last opportunity to appear in the CBSE Class 10 private examination in 2024, as this scheme will be discontinued after this year. Delhi female students must provide their bona fide certificate, while physically handicapped students must upload a medical certificate.

Fee Structure

The CBSE has established a fee structure for the Class 10 private examination as follows:

  • Registration Fee (for five exams):
  • Indian Candidates: Rs 1,500
  • Nepalese Candidates: Rs 1,500
  • International Candidates (other than Nepal): Rs 10,000
  • Additional Subject Fee:
  • Indian Candidates: Rs 300 per subject
  • Nepalese Candidates: Rs 1,000 per subject
  • International Candidates (other than Nepal): Rs 2,000 per subject
  • Practical Test Fee:
  • Indian and Nepalese Candidates: Rs 150 per subject
  • International Candidates (other than Nepal): Rs 350 per subject
